Sugarland Concert

Last Thursday, my Mom and I went to the Sugarland concert at the Nationwide Arena.

Sugarland is one of my very favorite bands. I love all of their songs, and I always joke that almost all of them are theme songs to my life. Some of my favorites are:

-- Baby Girl -- when I moved away from home
-- Something More and It Happens -- when I am having a bad day, especially at work
-- Already Gone -- my first love
-- Settlin' -- my love life, career, really anything

The concert was a-maz-ing! The set was awesome and the two of them are just great performers. They sang for about 2 hours, which I think was a pretty good amount of time. I have heard of other artists only performing for an hour or so. We were in the 2nd to last row, but it was great because they had this big round screen in the middle of their set which allowed us to see them up close. Here are some of my pictures from the concert. They didn't turn out too bad considering we were so far away, and of course because it was pretty dark in there it's sometimes hard to get a good picture.

If you ever get a chance, I highly recommend going to see their show!

Taylor Swift's "Mine" Video

Last Friday CMT premiered Taylor Swift's new video "Mine" and I totally fell in love with it! I was finally able to find it on YouTube and wanted to share. I have always been a big fan of Taylor's and this video just has a really cute story behind it. My favorite scenes are of Taylor standing in the trees with all of the pictures and Taylor and "her family" playing in the water. Enjoy!

If I Die Young (song)

I heard this song yesterday on the radio for the first time and I loved it! But it was very emotional and thought provoking for me and I just kept thinking, wow, those are powerful lyrics, I wonder what it all means.



At first I thought was it about suicide, or maybe about a teenager who lost their life too soon.

After a little reseach online, I came across a video of the band explaining what the song is about. They claimed it was a statement of contentment, and right before they wrote the song they were discussing how great things have been for them in their lives, and if it all ended quickly for whatever reason, they would be ok because they were happy with their lives.

They also said that after playing the song for others, they have people come up to them and tell them that the song means very different things to them. Some people have just lost someone, and it makes them feel like everything is going to be ok.

I think a good lesson to learn is to enjoy everyday of your life, and make sure you are living your life in a way that makes yourself proud, because you never know when it will end quickly.

Black Eyed Peas and a Fun Swap

I don't know about you, but with all the snow and cold weather, I have just been feeling kind of frumpy and a little blue. So when I can across this fun Nail Polish and More Swap, I was like "sign me up!!"

I love painting my nails fun colors, but really haven't been too good at keeping up with it lately. Typically in the summer though, I always have my toes painted. I don't really go for the crazy bright colors, but typically stay with the pinks, reds and burgandy colors. I do want to try some fun purple polish sometime soon. And for even more fun, last night my boyfriend and I went to the Black Eyed Peas concert. We weren't planning on going, but at about 5 pm yesterday, my boyfriend emails me that he got 2 free tickets. They were aweful seats (the second to last row at the top), but hey, they were free.

The opening act was Ludacris who is a hard core rapper. I am not a huge fan of him or rap really, so I didn't care much for him. The bass was so loud, you could hardly hear any music or a word he was saying.

The Black Eyed Peas though were awesome! The costumes, lights, graphics, it was all so much fun. Totally worth the 20 min walk in the cold and slush and waiting in line with a bunch of teenie boppers (we both felt sooo old!).

I totally forgot my camera, and tried to take a picture using my phone, but between the lights and us being so far away, it really didn't turn out, but you get the point.

Fergie sang about 5 songs off of her solo album, and it was awesome! Probably my favorite part of the concert.
